PMRecorder Sample Session
To start the application choose the PMRecorder icon from the Start menu. This screen will then display. If a call is in progress, the Call in progress checkbox will have an X in it. You may record a voice note by pressing the left soft key Record; the Record button will change to a Stop button; select Stop to stop the recording. The recording will show up in the Call List of the application.
To choose your settings, selectMenu->Settings.
If you would like phone calls to be recorder, choose the Record all checkbox. The application will automatically record every phone call that you place or receive.
To be prompted when you choose to delete calls, choose the Confirm Deletes checkbox.
To record your calls using compressed audio (we *highly* recommend this), choose the Compress Audio checkbox.
Your call recordings are saved to a directory on your phone. We recommend that you choose your \Storage Card to save the audio of the calls. In compressed format, the calls take about 100k per minute. If you choose to save them to your phone's default storage memory, you will need to archive them often and delete them. Saving the calls to the \Storage card will allow you to have more calls accessible from your phone. You may change the default directory where your calls are saved by selectingMenu->Data directory... to choose an alternate directory. The PMRecorder application will stop recording audio if your available storage gets below the value selected in the Leave at least [x] MB free text box. We recommend you set this to 2MB or more so that your phone does not run low on memory to run other applications.
We recommend that you leave the Upload new items only checkbox selected so that each time your calls are archived to the 1800message.com site, only the new calls will be saved.
If you would like PMRecorder to automatically archive your calls every so often, select the Auto-archive recordings checkbox and enter how many hours to wait between auto-archive operations in the Archive every [x] hours textbox.
Be sure to select the Save soft key to save your settings. Choose Menu->Cancel to cancel your changes.
If you place or receive a call the PMRecorder application will show you what number was called and the contact associated with that number.
To list your calls, chooseMenu->List Calls. To archive your calls, choose Archive calls.
This is a sample call list. The first item in the list is a manual voice note collected by pressing the Record then Stop softkeys.
The next two items are outbound calls to Voicemail. Notice the outgoing call icon.
The next call is an inbound call from Sam Henderson.
Calls that have been archived have the network diskdrive icon as the first icon. (all listed in this screen *except* the Manual recording - it has not been archived yet.)
You may set or clear this value by using the Menu.
This screen shows the Menu for the Call List. To show details of a call like who the call was to, how long the call was, etc. choose Details. Choose Play to play the recorded call. You may sort calls by Date, Name, Number or Duration. Choose Delete to delete the selected call. You may also delete all calls by choosing Delete All. You may Keep calls on the phone by choosing Keep until delete. This option is useful if you want to make sure and have a copy of the call on the phone even if your phone runs low on memory. If your phone runs low on memory, those files that have not been marked to Keep will be deleted - oldest first.
When you choose Keep until delete, a green circle will be placed in the background of the left-most icon. For example, in this screen, the 5th call down from Hutcheon, Bruce is marked to keep. If a call may be deleted soon, a yellow background is placed behind the left-most icon.
This is a sample detail screen showing information available for each call (the phone number has been X'd out).
